Business email
Business email for your team, on your own domain
A name@yourcompany.com for everyone, plus shared inboxes like info@ and support@. Use it in the browser, or connect Outlook, Apple Mail and phone apps. Spam filtering, virus scanning and DKIM signing are built in.
The free plan includes 5 mailboxes and 1 GiB of storage. No credit card.
What a team needs from its mailbox
Your own domain
Addresses are you@yourcompany.com, with no platform suffix. One account can hold several domains.
Webmail
Sign in at mail.rovela.dev to write, reply, forward, attach files, search and act on many messages at once. Nothing to install.
Any mail app
Standard IMAP and SMTP, so Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird and the mail app on your phone all work.
Members and shared inboxes
Admins create mailboxes and assign them to members, who see only their own and the shared ones. When someone leaves, the mailbox stays and can be handed over.
Spam and virus filtering
Every incoming message is scored by Rspamd and scanned by ClamAV. Suspicious mail goes to the Junk folder instead of the inbox.
Mail that lands in the inbox
Every outgoing message is DKIM-signed with your domain key, with SPF and DMARC aligned. Each mailbox can only send as its own address, so nobody can impersonate it.
Tracking pixels blocked
Webmail does not load remote images by default, so opening a message does not tell the sender you read it. Load them with one click when you want to.
Storage and alerts
Each mailbox has its own storage limit, and you are warned before it fills up rather than after delivery starts stalling.
Set up in three steps
- 01
Add your domain
Add your domain in the dashboard and we generate the DNS records it needs. On Cloudflare, Aliyun or DNSPod they can be written for you.
- 02
Point MX at Rovela
Point the domain MX record at Rovela and add the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records. The dashboard checks each one.
- 03
Create mailboxes
Create a mailbox for each person and assign it. They sign in to webmail or set up their mail app and start using it.
Mail app settings
Enter these in any mail app that supports IMAP. The username is the full email address, and the password is the one set when the mailbox was created.

Questions
- Is this the same product as the email API?
- Same account, same domain setup. The API is for your software to send mail, business email is for people to send and receive it, and both can run on one domain.
- Can I move over from another provider?
- Yes. Create the same mailboxes in Rovela first, then switch the MX record so new mail arrives here. Older mail can be dragged across in any IMAP mail app.
- Can members read each other's mail?
- No. Members can open only the mailboxes assigned to them and shared mailboxes with no owner. Admins and owners can see all of them.
- Does it work on my phone?
- Yes. The built-in mail apps on iPhone and Android support IMAP; use the settings above. Webmail also works in a mobile browser.
- How is spam handled?
- Incoming mail is scored for spam and scanned for viruses first. High scores are rejected, suspicious mail goes to Junk, and the rest reaches the inbox.
- What happens when a mailbox is full?
- The dashboard warns you as it gets close. Once full, new mail is not lost or bounced straight away: delivery is held and retried, and goes through once you clear mail or raise the limit. Only if it stays full for a long time does the sender get a bounce.
