Rovela 0.4.0: Three-Mode Composer, Mailbox Import, and Cross-Folder Search

What shipped in 0.4.0

Rovela 0.4.0 is the biggest feature release yet, touching the composer, the import pipeline, search, and multi-organization support all at once.

Three-mode composer

The compose panel now handles all three outbound modes from a single surface. New message mode is what you already know. Reply mode threads the original message below the editing area, correctly attributing the sender and date in the quote header. Forward mode attaches the original as a quote with the full header, ready to send on.

Switching between modes while a draft is open preserves your text, so switching from New to Reply does not lose what you typed. All three modes support both plain text and rich text; the mode preference persists per session.

IMAP mailbox import

You can now migrate mailboxes from any IMAP provider directly into Rovela without any data export step. Enter the source server details and credentials, pick a folder mapping strategy, and Rovela connects to the source server, enumerates folders, and starts copying messages in the background.

Folder mapping has three options: mirror (recreate the source folder tree exactly), merge (merge all source folders into their Rovela equivalents), or custom (map each source folder to a chosen destination). Import progress is visible in real time in the Mailboxes settings; you can continue using the mailbox normally while the import runs.

Providers with known IMAP configurations — including major hosted providers — are pre-configured so you only need to supply credentials.

Cross-folder search with location

Search now runs across every folder simultaneously and labels each result with the folder it came from. Previously, search was scoped to the current folder. Now a single query surfaces results from Inbox, Sent, Archives, and any custom folder at once, with the folder name shown on every result card.

Org switcher

Users belonging to more than one organization can switch between them from the top of the sidebar without logging out. The active org is shown in the header; switching reloads the mailbox list, quota figures, and settings for the chosen org immediately.
